Tom Wilson (Biff)

    del.icio.us

I am one of the biggest "Back To The Future" fans to live.. every once in awhile we will have BTTF days where we play all three DVDs consecutively, so I have large segments of the movie memorized.

I saw one of the best performances last night, by none other than Tom Willson, who played Biff Tannen, Griff Tannen, and Buford "Mad Dog" Tannen in the trilogy. It was only recently that I found out that he was A) A musician, B) A stand-up comic, and C) Was going to be performing at the Tempe Improv. So we purchased tickets for his 10:00pm show last night, and it was amazing.

First off, we got in line and found him standing outside near the line selling CDs of his work (he's instantly recognizable). We went up to him, introduced ourselves, and asked him to sign our BTTF Trilogy DVD box. He did, then we proceeded to purchase a CD and have that autographed as well. We got to meet, shake hands, and chit chat with Biff.

One thing I noticed that I thought was interesting was that when Tom Wilson played Biff, the only time he looked like himself without any "Hollywood aging effects" was in 1955. The 1985 Biff was made to look older. Oddly enough, he looked very much like the 1985 Biff, perhaps a little younger but eerily accurate.

Overall, this was one of the best acts I had ever seen. If you have a chance to see him and/or purchase his CD, I highly recommend it, if nothing else for just the "Back To The Future" song.
